The Dance of Kings and Queens

On a board of black and white,
Battles rage through day and night.
Knights leap high, their steeds take flight,
Bishops slice with angled might.

The pawns, so humble, stand their ground,
Silent warriors, duty-bound.
Step by step, they pave the way,
For kings to hide or queens to slay.

The rooks, like towers, guard the lane,
Steady, strong, they never wane.
While the queen, with regal flair,
Commands the board with strength and care.

The king, so frail, yet holds the throne,
His safety marks the battle’s tone.
Protect him well, your strategy wise,
Lest he falls and the kingdom dies.

Each move a story, each game a tale,
Of cunning plans that sometimes fail.
A timeless dance of wit and art,
A chessboard holds the player’s heart.

So play the game, embrace the fight,
On squares of black and squares of white.
For in this world of check and mate,
The mind’s the key to shape your fate.
